The total cost of trade between Myanmar and the countries of the Middle East reached 332.874 billion dollars for the first 10 months of fiscal year 2016-2017 as of January, according to official sources. During this period, Myanmar obtained $ 100 million at the expense of exports to these countries, while the value of imports reached $ 231 million USD.
Myanmar mainly exports fishery products, agricultural products, such as beans, legumes and rice, to the Middle East. The total volume of bilateral trade in the last financial year 2015-2016 was US $ 381.351 million USD.
Myanmar is making efforts to promote exports, in line with long-term, medium-term and short-term plans. Main trading partners are China, India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and some European countries.
